‘Taproot Art is dedicated to raising funds for one large grassroot issue at a time through the vehicle of art.
The Taproot Art Auction will take place in MART Gallery Rathmines, Dublin on Saturday January 27 from 6-9pm.
There are a wealth of Irish and international contributors donating art and the full lineup will be announced the week running up to the event. The following featuring artists will give you a flavour of what to expect.
California based painter John Ratajkowski, John Ratajkowski, Jay Miriam (NY, Ornis Gallery, Amsterdam ) K.R Kitsch (NY) and Irish contributors such as Hugh Cooney, Peter Doyle, Doug Ross, Ickis Mirolo,Ruan van Vliet, Stephen McCarthy, Caolan Barron, amongst many more. Raffle prizes, including a donation from rising Irish urban knitwear designer, Pearl Reddington.
All the proceeds raised will be going towards Inner City Helping Homeless foundation, a relatively new organisation based in Dublin city center which focuses on casework, as well as providing a post 11pm outreach programme.
The auction itself will take place at 8pm, hosted by Sophie Murphy. There will also be pieces available for direct purchase if you cannot attend the auction.
The main ai of Taproot Art is to de-stigmatize, raise money and offer Ireland’s fine folk, a fine time and fine art in the process.’
