Park Canal Limerick City, Bright Autumn Morning by Caitriona Osborne

Park Canal Limerick City, Bright Autumn Morning

Oil painting on canvas 60x60cm

The bold abstract pattern of dark and light, circle and square, lines and masses really caught my attention here. All set off beautifully with sunshine and autumn colour. I hope the joy of the moment really comes through here. The entrance to the canal is also a kind of symbolism, an entry to the past, a connection no longer used, yet remaining. From this point right in the city centre one can walk or cycle on two greenways one to Corbally and the other extends all the way to the University of Limerick. Even though obsolete it still connects point to point, and place to place.

.

This painting is on Winsor and Newton Cotton Canvas. I use Royal Talens Cobra and Micheal Harding brand oil paints they give fantastic colour and clarity with lightfast pigments.
