About the Artist
I was born in 1956 and have drawing as long as I can remember.
My father was a printer so there was never a shortage of paper .As a teenager I attended the George Colley School of drawing. In the 80s I studied Commercial Art in Rathmines College of Commerce. I obtained my Diploma in 1984. I have always drawn and painted wildlife and have travelled to as many wild places as I could. I now find the best subjects are on my own doorstep. For 15 years I did very little drawing due to work and family life but now am retired so I can paint every day and enjoy every moment of it. I work in oils and have started to do pet portraits along with my other wildlife studies. A selection of my Irish Birds of Prey have been published in Irish Wildlife Trust’s magazine IRISH WILDLIFE.
More recently one of my bird paintings has been awarded a Special Merit Award in the Dec 2015 “Wildlife Competition” on the Light,Space and Time online Art Gallery.
