About the Artist
Dublin born Artist Sheila Mac Nally studied art in Ballyfermot SC, Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design and NCAD.
Having worked and travelled extensively as a professional decorative artist for many years she later settled in County Wexford, turned to painting in oils and was introduced to working en plein air.
She participates and exhibits with the annual Art in the Open Festival and is an active member of the vibrant Southeast plein air group as well as working from her home studio on larger scale pieces and private commissions, while refreshing her drawing skills through regular portrait sittings and life drawing in charcoal and conté.
“I feel incredibly lucky to be able to express how I experience the world through art. I like to see each piece as a learning experience; each subject and the conditions affecting it have something new to teach me.”
