Description
Light breaking through the morning, December at the park.
Oil landscape painting on board 24x20in (61x51cm)
December in Ireland can seem very bleak with short days and overcast skies. In this painting the bareness of the trees after their leaves have been shed lets the light of the winter sun shine through. Looking upwards the perspective has changed.
I worked up this painting in the studio after a walk in the park.
About the materials:
This painting is on high density fibreboard which has been sealed and gessoed before paint application. As there is no grain the board is resistant to warping. However it is recommended that this work be framed before hanging to protect the corners from accidental impact damage.
I use Royal Talens Cobra and Micheal Harding brand oil paints they give fantastic colour and clarity with lightfast pigments.
